Presentation Title: Infuse the Unique Value of OT into our Approaches – Capture the Value in our Documentation
Conference Session Abstract: Occupational Therapy clinicians possess a unique skillset in what we can offer our clients. Whether we are treating individuals recovering from injuries, medical conditions, cognitive disabilities, or otherwise, clinicians often fail in capturing the unique nature of Occupational Therapy within their clinical reasoning and documentation. The focus of this course is to take clinicians back to their roots, reminding them of the value of OT, demonstrating how interventions and clinical approaches can be broken down into sub-tasks, and review best practices for documentation to reflect occupation-based skilled intervention. The quality and content of occupational therapy documentation must be unique from what other disciplines are addressing within their treatment sessions, in order to avoid the appearance of duplication of services and support the services provided. Join us in this dynamic and interactive discussion on how OT clinicians can capture the value of the occupational therapy profession in our documentation.
